Lib Dem MP Jenny Tonge's career was also hit by the blast

In a furious storm of one-day criticism, Clare Timkins has been forced to step down as a member of for Market Pickton Parish Council following an allegedly "outrageous" comment, in which she said that 'If [she were] a Palestinian, [she'd] be pretty damn fed up with Israel, too'.

In the light of developments in Westminster, Francis Bargle - the leader of Market Pickton's Parish council - explained that "It was obviously improper for Clare to stay with us. If the Lib Dems are jumping on the bandwagon of Political Correctness over that Tonge woman, then I'm going to hop on right beside them!"

Meanwhile, Miss Timkins remains defiant. "We were discussing all this fuss caused by Dr Tonge's saying what she thinks and all I said was 'Well, I sort of understand'," she told KTAB News, "'I think I'd be pretty fed up with Israel as well, if I lived in Palestine.' I mean, you would, wouldn't you? Being evicted and murdered the whole time, it'd get right on your wick."

No Palestinians were available for comment, but it is believed by International analysts that the majority of those not currently being served with eviction notices or threats of gaol would cautiously support Miss Timkins in her apparent incitement that they "be fed up" with Israel.

Meanwhile, the peace process in the Middle East moves slowly onwards, with little or no evidence of sects incited to violence against the Israelis by either Miss Timkins's or Dr Tonge's comments. However, the Israelis are damn annoyed by the suggestions of both "militant" women; "Miss Timkins ought to be publicly put down for this!" Ariel Sharon said indignantly in a press conference, "These remarks could not only upset the victims of suicide bombings, but could encourage a wider understanding of the Palestinians' plight in the media."
