Gaddafi was even required to surrender the WMD hidden in his coat. And up his sleeves. And take that hat off, please...

Weapons of mass destruction have been found and removed in a country ruled by a brutal dictator with terrorist links in what the US and UK have hailed as "a triumph", and everyone else has hailed as "a triumph achieved by asking nicely rather than waging brutal, illegal war".

Colonel Gaddafi, the ruler of Libya, handed over the last few items in his "Lego Nuclear Playset" on Sunday, which were gratefully recieved by the USA. "This has made the world a much safer place," a White House spokesman declared. "Bush has been after some Lego for ages, now he's got some there's a chance he might stop having wars when he gets a bit bored!"

Libya denied having the chemical agents for offensive purposes, however; "If you have flour, water and fire, you do not necessarily make bread," Libyan Foreign Minister Shalgam told reporters.

"True!" explained US WMD expert Dr Francis Bargle, "You'd probably make a water cannon and a flour bomb. And maybe some poisoned scones."

Libyan weapons scientists will now be re-trained by the US, after a thorough examination "just so we know how much they know". "After that," said Dr Bargle, "we're going to show them how to do research into honest, patriotic, American things like GM crops, oil-driven machinery and nuclear weapons...oops!"

This new form of international relations, which has been dubbed "diplomacy" by the Bush administration, is considered a breakthrough in the War on Terror. "We now have a new weapon in our arsenal against the evil Rogue States," Bush told KTAB News, in an exclusive interview. "It is my firm belief that the path of non-aggressive persuasion will become a valuable weapon, which we can use carefully, and as a last resort after all violent options have failed."
