Bernard Speaks Out

Well in the name of All that is Beloved, some people have a lot of nerve! I'm sorry if I run the risk of offending any of you insensitive, half-witted dunderheads, but I cannot stand by and let you ungrateful - I hate to say it, but I must - bastards attack poor old President Dubyah Bush over his failure to prevent the attacks of "9/11"!

I mean, come on, people! Politically, Bush is having a hard enough time as it is; John Kerry is possibly the most serious Presidential candidate the Democrats could have elected, and the Bush administration is going to really have to make an effort to keep their leader's narrowing lead as favourite for the Election Winner, which is going to distract them from what's going on in Iraq.

What's going on in Iraq is going to need a shedload of attention, because the whole thing's going right up the spout. Bush sent those troops out there, to get rid of all those WMD, to topple evil al-Qaeda-supporting Saddam…and then all you smart-alec-after-the-event types go and point out that there were no WMD, and Saddam hated Bin Laden anyway!

You useless layabout whingeing moping ingrates are bloody attacking the President of the United States because, although he was warned about a major terrorist attack, he failed to prevent the atrocities of September 11th!

I mean, where is your sense of perspective?! So, okay, Condeleezza Rice didn't admit that mistakes were made because Bush might not have taken the threats seriously, but come on! They were vague threats! Not one of them, for all they warn of impending atrocities and major events, not one of them actually, explicitly states that the World Trade Centre is going to be knocked down by a big bloody plane!

How was Bush to know?! Yet you all seem to think he should have prevented it! And you're laying burdens on him at a time when he needs all his energy to try and save American Troops from utter decimation in Iraq, so he can pull out in June and do his best to get the US People to forget all about the war in time to do his best to prevent John Kerry taking the Presidency from him!

You're all sick. Sit down with your documented evidence, shut up about the memos and the reports and the warnings, give the man a break, and maybe - if you give him long enough - he'll manage to come up with a plan.

Disgust and sneers,

Bernard, The Editor.
